4G63エンジンは、カムクリアランスのメンテナスフリー化と
作動音低減を果たすため、油圧式のラッシュアジャスターが
採用されました。
しかし、エンジンチューニングによって高回転、高出力を
ねらう時は、ヘッド部分の信頼性の向上と、バルブを
カムプロフィール通りに正確に運動させることが重要であり、
ラッシュアジャスターの機能を停止させる必要があります。
TOMEIは、調整方法をシム式とすることで
カムクリアランスの調整を行えるようにしました。
The 4G63 was designed to be used with the Lash (hydraulic) adjuster system to be maintenance free
and noise free operations. But when aiming for high engine speeds and high power builds,
the reliability of the valve train is then compromised. Due to the use of more aggressive cam profiles
the hydraulic setup will have to be replaced with a non hydraulic setup.
This will increase the reliability during extreme performance conditions.
The TOMEI setup uses shims to adjust the cam clearance.
