Adjusting the Delay Time of the Rear
Speakers

— for Dolby surround mode

Sound from the front and rear speakers is not output
simultaneously. By adjusting the time difference between
front and rear speakers (delay time), you can make the
surround sound best fit your listening environment. You
can make the delay time longer or shorter within the range
of 15 ms to 30 ms.

To turn off the surround effect
Press SOUND HELD ON/OFF to OFF.
The normal sound without the surround and equalizer
effects (STR-GX800ES: tone effect) will resume.

The settings of the center and rear level and the delay time
remain until you change the settings. They will be recalled
whenever you select a sound field program.

Press SOUND FIELD ON/OFF to ON.
The indicator of the last selected sound field lights
up.

Press SOUND FIELD MODE until the DOLBY
SUR indicator lights up.

Press DPC MODE so that the SUR (surround)
indicator lights.

Rotate the PARAMETER/EQ LEVEL/
CHARACTER knob* to select the delay time
mode.

Rotate the LEVEL/FREQUENCY/POSITION
knob** to adjust the delay time.

* For STR-GX800ES, the name of the knob is PARAMETER/

TONE LEVEL/CHARACTER.

For STR-GX800ES, the name of the knob is LEVEL/BASS/

TREBLE/POSITION.
