To cancel the audio emphasis

Press EFFECT (or MUSIC MENU ON/OFF
on the remote) once so that the EFFECT
indicator and the selected preset setting
indicator go off.
"EFFECT OFF" appears in the display.

To change the equalizer display

Each time you hold down
DISPLAY /DEMO for a few seconds, the
equalizer display changes to show one of
the following displays:

Adjusting the Audio
Emphasis

You can adjust the audio emphasis using
the following two functions:
• Graphic equalizer
• Surround effect

Adjusting the Sound

(graphic equalizer)

This feature lets you adjust the audio
emphasis by raising and lowering the level
of frequency ranges. Before operation, first
select the audio emphasis you want for
your basic sound.

The frequency range appears and the
level value flashes in the display.

range you want to change.

Activating the Sound Field

(surround effect)

You can use the surround effect without
connecting the surround speakers. Before
operation, first select the audio emphasis
you want for your basic sound.

To turn on the surround effect

Press one of the programmed surround

effect buttons (HALL, LIVE or THEATER)
on the amplifier or DSP MODE on the
remote.

When the mode is

You will hear

A reverberation

effect that simulates

the acoustics of a
large concert hall.

LIVE

An effect that

(SUR 2 llllnillll )

simulates the
presence of a live
concert.

THEATER

An effect that

simulates the
presence of a movie
theater.

To turn off the programmed
surround effect

Press the lighted programmed surround
effect button (HALL, LIVE, or THEATER)
on the amplifier.
Or press DSP MODE on the remote
repeatedly until "SURROUND OFF"
appears in the display.
