Operating the answering
machine from a touch-tone
phone
By setting your security code, you can operate the answering machine
from a touch-tone phone while you are away from your home.

Press (REMOTE).
The REMOTE lamp lights up.
Press (D.
Press any two digits for security
code (CO)®) — (1)(D).
Press CD again.
A long confirmation beep sounds.
Press (
remote
) again.
The REMOTE lamp goes off.
Notes
• .Make sure that the RING ON/BATT SAVE switch is set to RING ON.
• If tw o minutes ha\ e passed during setting, the setting is canceled.
If the ring time is set to "Toll-saver"
If any new messages are recorded, the answering machine will
answ er after three rings. If no new message is recorded, it will answer
after fi\ e rings.
When you call from a touch-tone phone and hear more than three
rings, you will know that there is no new message and you can then
hang up. saving you the cost of the call (see page 23).
