Hooking Up the System

Overview

This section describes how to hook up the CD plaver to
an amplifier. Be sure to turn off the power of each
component before making the connections.

To an AC outlet

What cords will I need?

Audio cord (1) (supplied)

Hookups

When connecting the audio cord, be sure to match the
color-coded cords to the appropriate jacks on the
components; Red (right) to Red and White (left) to
White. Be sure to make connections firmly to a\ oid
hum and noise.

Amplifier

To connect the transmitter/receiver

Connect the transmitter/receiver to an AC outlet using a
AC adapter (supplied) and via the S-LINK CONTROL A1
jack using a monaural mini-plug cord (supplied).

AC adapter (1 ) (supplied)

Note

• Use the supplied AC adapter. Do not use any other AC

adapter since it may cause the CD player to malfunction.
When replacing the AC adapter, use the same type
number AC-IAIO.

• If you have a Sony receiver (amplifier) equipped with

the CONTROLAI jack

Be sure to connect the player to the CD IN jacks on the
receiver (amplifier). When making this connection, set the
COMMAND MODE of the player to CD! (see the
illustration on the next page). If you further connect the
player and the receiver (amplifier) via the CONTROL A1
jacks with the monaural (2P) mini-plug cord, you can use
the Auto Function feature between these components. For
details, refer to the supplementary "S-LINK^^/CONTROL-
A1 Control System" instructions and the instructions
supplied with the receiver (amplifier).
