WARNING;

Craftsman replacement parts. Use of any other part

may create a hazard or cause product damage.

WARNING:

Always wear safety goggles

or

safety

glasses with side shields when using compressed air
to clean tools. If the operation is dusty, also wear a
dust mask.

WARNING;

To avoid serious personal injury, always

remove the battery pack from the tool when cleaning
or performing any maintenance.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Avoid using solvents when ciaaning plastic parts. Most

plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of

commercial solvente and may be damaged by their use.

Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

WARNING:

Do not at any time let brake fluids,

gasoline, petroieum-based products, penetrating
oils, etc. come In contact with plastic parts. Chemi­

cals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which
may result in serious personal injury.

Only the parts shown on the parts list are intended to be

repaired or replaced by the customer. A!i other parts

should be replaced at a Sears Service Center.

CHUCK REMOVAL

The chuck may be removed and replaced by a new one.

■ Lock the switch trigger by placing the direction of rota­

tion selector in center position.

■ Insert a 5/16 in. or larger hex key into the chuck of the

drill and dghten the chuck jaws securely.

■ Tap the hex key sharply with a maifet in a ciockwise

direction. This win loosen the screw in the chuck for
easy removal.

Open the chuck jaws and remove the hex key. Using a
screwdriver, remove the chuck screw by turning it in a

clockwise direction.

NOTE: The screw has left hand threads.
