USING THE CHIPPER CHUTE

Material such as stalks or heavy branches up to 3" in

diameter may be fed Into the chipper chute as shown

in figure 37.

Be sure to wear eye protection and gloves when

feeding material into the chipper chute.

Use the tamper plug, not your hands, to force material
down through the chipper chute.

For best performance, it is important to keep the

chipper blades sharp. If the composition of the
material being discharged changes (becomes stringy,
etc.) or if the rate of discharge slows down consider­
ably, it is likely that the chipper blades are dull and

need to be sharpened or replaced. Refer to the
Service and Adjustments section, on page 23.

attempt to feed any

material larger than 3" in diameter into

the chipper chute. Personal injury or
damage to the machine could result.

DANGER: Keep hands out

of chipper

chute. Rotating blades in impeller

housing can cause serious injury. Use

the tamper plug to help push material

down into the chute.
