English

Thank you for purchasing the AF Zoom-Nikkor 80-

200mm f/4.5-5.6D lens. This lens can be used for

both auto and manual focus when mounted to Nikon AF

(Auto Focus) cameras (except for the F3AF). When this
lens is mounted to a camera body with the object

distance information analysis function, object distance

information can be transferred to the camera body.

Important!

• Do not attach the following accessories to the lens, as they

might damage the lens CPU contacts: Auto Extension Ring
PK-1, PK-11 (use PK-11 A), K1 Ring and Auto Ring BR-4
(use BR-6).

• Other accessories may not be suitable for use with

certain camera bodies. For details, carefully read the

camera instruction manual.

• This lens cannot be used with the AF Finder DX-1

attached to the Nikon F3AF camera.

Changes in maximum F-number

When this zoom lens changes its focal length, the

maximum F-number also changes from 4.5 to 5.6.

F = 4.5 at a focal length of 80mm, and 5.6 at 200mm,
a difference of approximately 2/3 of a stop. Cameras with

TTL metering can still produce correct exposure when the

maximum F-number changes. If an independent exposure
meter is used, however, the following steps are required

when setting the aperture value. Align aperture scale to

either the 80mm or 200mm index as required. (For other
focal lengths, set to a point between the two indexes.)

Deutsch

Beim
Einsatz dieses Objektivs mit der Dingabstandinformation
kann die Dingabstandinformation zum Kameragehäuse

übertragen werden.

When using the Speedlight

Zooming with this lens changes both the maximum F-

number and the aperture value.
• Shooting with TTL flash operation (including SB-26, 25,

24, 23, 22, 20, 17, 16A, 16B, 15 and 12)
Correct exposure can be obtained regardless of changes

in the maximum F-number. Note, however, that

zooming changes the aperture value and hence the
flash-shooting distance range.

• Shooting with Non-TTL auto flash and manual operation

Although the Speedlight F-number (i .e., the aperture
value) must be set to the F-number of the lens, correct

exposure can be obtained across almost the entire focal

length by setting the aperture midway between the two

aperture indexes.

Minimum Aperture Lock lever

(See illusi A.)

For programmed auto or shutter-priority auto shooting, use

the minimum aperture lock lever to lock the lens aperture

atf/32.

1 .Set the lens to its minimum aperture (f/32).
2. Slide the lock lever in the direction of the aperture ring

so that white dot on the tab aligns with the orange dot.

To release the lock, slide the lever in the reverse direction.

Recommended Focusing Screens

(See the reverse)

Various interchangeable focusing screens are available
for Nikon F4- and F3-series cameras to suit any type

of lens or picture-taking situation. Those which are

recommended for use with this lens are listed in the table
(see the reverse). For details, also refer to the specific

camera’s instruction manual.

Wichtig!
