ICA connections are the logical “ports” used by ICA Clients to connect and start
a session that runs on the MetaFrame server. A connection is associated with a
network connection (IPX, SPX, TCP/IP, or NetBIOS) or a serial connection
(modems or direct cables).
The behavior of a user’s session is controlled by settings in three places:
u The ICA Client
u The connection used to start the session
u The user’s account properties
Per-connection settings affect all users that log on at a particular connection. Per-
user settings affect a single user or group no matter how users connect to the
Citrix server. Per-client settings can enable additional security and/or compression
for remote users.
This section tells you how to configure session behavior for all connections of a
given type or all connections on a given asynchronous “port,” that is, how to
modify per-connection settings.
