Operation of the THP221 Alarm

After setting up your personal password, please practice ARMING and DISARMING the alarm, and testing the chime and
magnetic sensor alarm. Remember, this alarm is very loud. While testing the alarm, be ready to enter the password
quickly so you can DISARM the unit immediately when the alarm is sounding.

NOTE: The CHIME option can only be used when the unit is DISARMED. Please turn the CHIME option “off” before
ARMING the THP221 Alarm.

ARMING AND DISARMING

To “ARM” the THP221 Alarm:
Enter your password and press the # button (ARM/DISARM button). You will hear a series of 3 beeps, indicating the
alarm is ARMED.

NOTE: There is a 60 second delay once you ARM the unit until it will actually be ARMED. After 60 seconds, the unit will
sound a beep to indicate the alarm is ready and ARMED. This is so once you ARM the unit, you can exit the door without
setting the alarm off.

To “DISARM” the THP221 Alarm:
When the unit is “ARMED”, or when the alarm is sounding, simply enter your password and press the # button. You will
hear 1 long beep indicating the alarm is DISARMED.

ALARM TIMING AND DELAYS

There are 3 different options for length of alarm, and 3 different options for delay of alarm. The alarm delay is important
when re-entering through a door with an ARMED THP221. You can have an 8 second or a 15 second delay on the alarm,
so you have some time to enter the password and DISARM the unit when re-entering through the door.

NOTE: When programming any of these settings, you will hear 2 beeps after entering the desired number (see the below
steps). This will indicate the setting is saved. You can change these settings at any time.

To program alarm length:

Press the * button and then press 1, 2, or 3. You will then hear 2 beeps indicating the setting is saved.
1 = 30 second alarm, 30 second standby, and another 30 second alarm.
2 = 60 second alarm, 30 second standby, and another 60 second alarm.
3 = 90 second alarm, 30 second standby, and another 90 second alarm.

To program alarm delay:

Press the * button and then press 7, 8 or 9. You will then hear 2 beeps indicating the setting is saved.
7 = alarm delay of 15 seconds from magnetic sensor break
8 = alarm delay of 8 seconds from magnetic sensor break
9 = no delay, instant alarm on magnetic sensor break.

DOOR CHIME FUNCTION

The THP221 can be used as a door chime, and will sound a loud “ding dong” when the door opens and the magnetic
sensors are separated.

The CHIME option can only function when the unit is DISARMED. Before turning the CHIME on/off switch to “ON”, make
sure you disarm the unit first. If the unit is ARMED, enter your password and press the # button. You will hear one long
beep indicating the alarm is disarmed.

When the unit is disarmed and the CHIME switch is set to “ON”, it will delay for 60 seconds until the chime sound will
function. It will sound a chime whenever the door is opened, and it resets every time the door is closed. The chime option
will remain on until the switch is turned off or until the THP221 is ARMED.

PANIC ALARM

The red PANIC button can be pressed at any time during an emergency and the alarm will sound for 30 seconds. The
password must be entered in order to stop the panic alarm.
