The following sections describe the detailed troubleshooting steps.

Checking the connectivity of the network

Use the display ip interface brief command to check the status of each interface. Up
indicates that the interface is available. Down indicates that the interface is not available.

The status of the network connectivity is based on the following four cases:

1.

Ethernet4/0/0 is up, the line protocol is up.

Each interface works normally.

2.

Ethernet4/0/0 is up, the line protocol is down.

The status of the link is down. The possible cause is that the IP address is not configured.

3.

Ethernet4/0/0 is down, the line protocol is down.

The interface and the link are down. The possible causes are as follows:

- The Ethernet interface has faults.

- The Ethernet interface is not connected with the cable.

- The cable connected to the Ethernet interface is damaged.

- The type of the cable is improper.

4.

Ethernet4/0/0 is administratively down, the line protocol is down.

The interface is shut down. Run the undo shutdown command to enable the interface.

Checking that the ACL rule is correct

Run the display acl command in any view to check that the filtering rule of the correct ACL is
configured.

Checking that the traffic classification rule is correct

Run the display traffic classifier user-defined command in any view to check whether the
class and the proper ACL rule are configured.
