Connecting the Telephone Line and Supplying Power

Connect the plug end of the telephone line cord into the telephone jack or other equiva

lent supplied by the telephone company. Usually service personnel will connect the

machine to the telephone line for you.

To supply power, just connect the Power cord and plug in the machine. The power

lamp on the control panel should light up.

Your machine uses little power, and you should keep it on at all times. If you keep

the machine unplugged for too long, the memory contents, such as ID number and

the Abbreviated numbers, will be lost.

In case of power failure the memory is backed up by the built-in battery up to 7 days
if it is fully charged.
