Concerning the hold function

This function prevents the unit from
operating even if one of the front panel
buttons is pressed in error.

Normally set the FM RECEPTION selector to “NOR". When there Is interference, set

the selector CITY. (This selector does not function for AM reception.)

Preset tuning

You can store each station separately
as follows. (Total: 20 stations)
MODE1: FM 1-5, AMI-5
MODE 2: FM 1-5, AM 1-5
We recommend that you use MODE 1

for daily use, and MODE 2 for travel.

■ Mode selecting

Press and hold »MODE for more

than 2 seconds.

■ Memory presetting

1. Tune in the station to be stored.

2. Press and hold one of the memory

buttons (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) for about
2 seconds.
3 beeps can be heard.

Press one of the memory buttons

(1,2, 3. 4, 5).

•Release the button within 2 seconds.

When using overseas

The allocation settings according to
the area are needed.

Every time the following procedure is

■ How to adjust the alloca­

tion settings

1. Press and hold — MODE to select

the mode (MODE 1 or MODE 2).

2. While pressing ВАТТ CHECK,

press and hold * MODE for about
3 seconds,

•The changed allocation settings

(FM and then AM) will appear on

the display.

Note:

Converting the allocation erases the
stations previously stored in memory.

SOUND

XBS (RQ-E30V)

Boosts the low frequency range.
•If sound distortion occurs, turn down

the volume,

XBS (RQ-E30V) or VMSS (RQ-E35V)
does not function for AM reception. If
you press XBS (RQ-E30V)A/MSS

{RQ-E35V) during AM reception, “E" is
shown on the display.

VMSS (RQ-E35V)

. Boosts the low frequency range. Also,

the vibration of the earpieces of the in­

cluded headphones makes sound vig­

orous.

Raising the volume makes the VMSS
effect intensity.

•The effectiveness of VMSS depends

on the source.

•If you experience a ringing or dis­

comfort in your ear while listening in
VMSS mode, reduce volume or turn
the VMSS mode OFF.
