Brake rod adjustment

NOTE: The brake rod should not come out of adjustment

on its own. If the brake rod does need to be
adjusted, check for a bent rod, worn bushing and
worn brake pucks.

To adjust the brake rod:

1. Remove the cutting deck by following the procedures

described in Chapter 8: Cutting Decks and Lift Sys-
tems.

2.

Lift and safely support the tractor.

3.

Remove the E-ring and washers from the right side of
the forward drive pedal shaft. See Figure 3.14.

4.

Slide the drive pedal shaft to the left until it stops.

5.

Remove the E-ring and washer(s) from the right side
of the brake pedal shaft. See Figure 3.15.

6.

Slide the brake pedal shaft to the left until it stops.

7.

Disconnect the brake rod from the brake pedal shaft
by removing the cotter pin and discarding it.
