NOTE: Match mark the connecting rod cap and the con-

necting rod so that they can be reassembled in the
proper orientation.

20.

Remove the connecting rod cap using a 7 mm
wrench. See Figure 10.5.

NOTE: Rotating the crank shaft after the connecting rod

bolts are removed will help to separate the con-
necting rod from the cap. See Figure 10.6.

21.

Push the piston out of the cylinder.

22.

Remove the piston rings from the piston using a pair
of piston ring pliers. See Figure 10.7.
