1.18 TC/LINK-RS: Archiving/Release of Text Messages (SPR00066320)

TC/LINK-RS now supports archiving and release of text messages, such as SMS (in addition to the previously
supported fax messages).

To release text, enable the “Release OCR full text file with document” option on the Release Setup | Image
Settings tab. In addition, you must select “Enable OCR full text” in your applicable document class properties.

Note: TC/LINK-RS does not include real OCR. The OCR Full Text option releases existing message text.

For more information see:

Chapter: Configuration – Configuration Tool TCReleaseConfig – Settings That Can Be Configured for Several
Object Types – Support OCR
Chapter: Restrictions – No Real OCR

1.19 TC/LINK-MD: PDU Mode (SPR00065019)

TC/LINK-MD (KCS UCP) supports sending and receiving of PDU strings (the binary string that is transferred
between mobile device and SMS Center, as defined in GSM 03.40). The PDU is decoded and the parameters are
mapped to those of the UCP protocol (or the incoming UCP message is used to create the PDU that is forwarded
to KCS).

Outgoing messages (from KCS to mobile) in PDU format have to include the binary message tag <B1> in the
recipient address. The <CODING> tag has to be set to “PDU” and the <BINARY> tag has to consist of the
hexadecimal PDU string.

For incoming SMS (from mobile to KCS) the PDU mode has to be configured per-instance of TC/LINK-WM by
setting the registry parameter “Coding” to “PDU-NAT”.

For more information see:

1.20 TC/LINK-MD: Dynamic Unicode Character Support (SPR00083026)

For countries where non-GSM 7-bit characters and characters of the GSM 7-bit default alphabet are used, dynamic
character encoding is supported. In this case TC/LINK-WM (MD) checks if the SMS to send contains only GSM 7-
bit supported characters. If an unsupported character is found, the SMS is send as a Unicode message; if only
GSM 7-bit characters are found, the SMS is sent as GSM 7-bit message.

For dynamic Unicode character support you need a conversion table that defines the conversion from your
Windows code page to GSM 7-bit.

Additionally, the following registry key has to be set to 1:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\TOPCALL\TCLINKxx\Protocol\Out\CodingUcs2IfNecessary.

For more information see:

1.21 TC/LINK-MQ Memory Allocation Enhancement

TC/LINK-MQ memory allocation while requesting messages from the MQ Server can now be configured via a
new registry key HKLM\Software\TOPCALL\TCLINKMQ\Options\EnhMemManagment. It can take the
following values:

0 – MQ messages are always fetched with configured maximum messages size
