Using your freezer

Setting the cold control...

To start, turn control to the middle of the dial.

This setting is designed to maintain temperature
at or near 0 F ( 17.8 C) under normal operating
conditions.

Adju«<ting cold control...

• Turn control to higher number for colder

tempc^ratures.

• Turn tc lower number for less cold temperatures.

Cooling freezer first...

• Allow 'reezer to cool 6 to 8 hours before filling

with frozen food.

• Let it cool overnight before adding large

amou' it of unfrozen food.

Note: Wien freezer is firsf started the compressor
will run constantly until the cabinet is cooled. It
may tat e up to 6 to 8 hours or longer, depending

on roop' temperature and the number of times

the free, er door is opened,

After t le cabinet is cooled the compressor will

turn on and off as needed to keep freezer at

proper temperature.

The Temperature Alarm (located on the right

side of the base grille) works together with an
electronic Temperature Sensor (located inside
the freezer - sensing freezer dirtemperature) to
alert the user to an abnormal condition which

has caused freezer air temperature to rise to a
level which may be unsafe for frozen food stor­
age. It is designed to sound a continuous tone if

the freezer becomes warm.

Freezer temperature may become too warm

if...

• The door is not tightly closed.
• The door has been opened too many times, or

has been left open too long,

• The Cold Control is not set correctly,
• A large food load has been added.
• The freezer is disconnected.
• There has been
a power failure, or a circuit-

breaker is tripped or a fuse blown.

Wher the Temperature

Alarm twitch in ON, the

temper ature. If the temperature becomes too

warm, t ie Temperature Alarm is designed to
sound c continuous tone.

You w II hear a different sound if the battery is

about tCi wear out.The alarm is designed to beep
(chirp) every 30 to 60 seconds to indicate a fail­
ing baTery.

If the temperature Alarm

sounds 3 continuous tone

OFF

and tie Temperature
Alarm s.vitch is ON, move
the switch to OFF.

Make sure you know why the freezer became

too warm. If the problem is serious (power failure)
and ser ,'ice or assistance is needed, see page

11. It the problem is simple (door open, freezer

unplugged) correct it. Move the switch back to

ON when the freezer is cold again.

The bseping that indicates a failing battery

cannot oe stopped by moving the Temperature
Alarm Switch to OFF. It can be stopped only by

removir g the battery. Replace immediately with
a 9-voit alkaline battery.
