Clear the pistol by following the directions on the inside cover

Disassembly (Field Stripping) of P2000/P2000 SK pistol
1. Make sure the pistol is CLEAR.

2. Depress the slide release and allow the slide to move forward.

3. Using the firing hand, re tract and hold the slide to the rear so that the axle of the slide

release is visible through the recess in the left side of the slide

(see Figure 15).

4. With the non-firing hand, completely remove the left slide release from the left side of

the frame by pressing on the axle of the slide release from the right side of the frame.

The right slide release will remain attached to the frame.

5. Remove the slide with bar rel and recoil spring assembly by slid ing it forward off of the

frame (see Figure 16 below).

6. Carefully remove the recoil spring assembly from the barrel and slide by lifting up on

the rear of the recoil spring guide rod. The entire assembly can now be lifted out of the

slide (see Figure 19). P2000/and P2000 SK pistols use a “captive” recoil spring assem-

bly. Dis as sem bly of the recoil spring is not recommended.

7. Lift the rear of the barrel by the locking block and with draw it from the slide.

8. Remove the right slide release by rotating it upward approximately 45° and lifting it out

of the frame.

Disassembly of the P30/P30L/P30S/P30LS
1. Make sure the pistol is CLEAR.

2. Depress the slide release and allow the slide to move forward.

3. Using your right hand, retract and hold the slide to the rear so that the slide release axle

lines up with the forward square cutout (arrow) on the slide. (See Figure 17)

4. With the left hand. press the slide release axle from the right to the left until the red

isidciatr is showing (Figure 18). Then remove the slide with the barrel and recoil spring

assembly by sliding it off the frame.

CAUTiON: it is not necessary to remove the slide axle beyond this point and doing

so could damage the pistol.

5. Remove the slide with bar rel and recoil spring assembly by slid ing it forward off of the

frame (see Figure 16).

6. Carefully remove the recoil spring assembly from the barrel and slide by lifting up on

the rear of the recoil spring guide rod. The entire assembly can now be lifted out of the

slide (see Figure 19). The P Series pistol uses a “captive” recoil spring assembly. Dis as-

sem bly of the recoil spring is not recommended.

7. Lift the rear of the barrel by the locking block and with draw it from the slide.
