8.5 Manual Safety, Grip Safety, Magazine Safety

1. Cock the hammer and engage manual safety. Pull the trigger with the

grip safety depressed.

2. The hammer should stay cocked.
3. Disengage the manual safety. Pull the trigger with the grip safety de-

pressed.

4. The hammer should release.
5. Cock the hammer. Pull the trigger without depressing the grip safety.

The hammer should remain cocked.

6. Without depressing the grip safety, remove the magazine.
7. Depress grip safety and pull the trigger.

The hammer should remain cocked.

Check the hammer safety notch

1. Pull the hammer backwards slowly, without touching the trigger.
2. You should hear a “click” when the sear catches into the safety notch.
3. Pull the trigger.
4. The hammer should not release.
