9.0 GX Power Supply Settings

Be sure to consult the GX Power Supply manual for a complete explanation of the various available weld

parameters and how to enter or change applicable settings.

1. Do not select Force/Pressure as the Trigger method. Instead select the Delay Timer option, so that the

ultrasonics will be triggered when the Delay Time specified in the Time menu is reached (per #2

below).

2. The Delay time value must be 0.01 seconds

3. The Weld time value must be long enough so that the distance profile and velocity controls are in

command of the cycle. If Weld time is programmed too short, the weld cycle may be cut off before the

travel profile is complete.

4. The same comment is true for the energy mode settings if you are using a GXE power supply. The

energy limit must be set large enough so that the motor and velocity controls will have sufficient time

to complete the weld. If energy limits are reached before the weld distance, the cycle may be cut short

and the system may not reach the programmed distance.

5. The Hold timer must be set long enough to allow the second distance movement to take place. If

ultrasonics is programmed to be “OFF” during the second move (Veloc

ity #2 and Distance #2) then the

hold must be set long enough to complete the movement and provide for additional hold time. If

ultrasonics is programmed “ON” during the second move then the ultrasonic hold time will not need to

consider the time required for the second move. Hold timer begins when the ultrasonic pulse is

terminated.

6. Afterpulse and Abort timers will function as necessary.
