IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using elecirical appliances^ basic safety precautions should always be

followed to reduce Ide risk of fire, electrical; shock and/or personal injury.

1) Read all insiructions.

2) Do not immerse appliencen cord or plug in water or other liquid.
3) Unplug from oullef when not in use and before cleaning.

Do not op^erate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or alter the appliance

malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to an

authorized DeLonghi service center for eKeminalion, repair or adjustmenl.

The use of accessory attachments is not recommended by Ihe appliance

manufaclurer. It may result in fire, electric shock and/or personal injury.

To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet. Always hold the plug, but never

pull the cord.

Do not use outdoors.

Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

Make sure Ihe cover is securely in place before grinding coffee.

10) Do rwt use appliance for other than inlended use.
11) Do not remove cover until blade has completely stopped.
12) Do not attempt cperaiion without the cover being in place.
13) Do not immerse the motorized base or blade in liquid, or place in dishwasher.

Damage to the unit will occur if submerged in liquid. Only the transparent lop

cover may be immersed,

14) Do not operate this appliance continuously for more than 60 seconds. Allow

appliance to cool down tor 10 minutes before using again.

15) Do not attempt to chop ice or use contrary la instructions.
16) Check coffee grinder interior for the presence of foreigrt objects before using,

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

A shod power cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from entanglement or
tripping over a longer cord, Longer detachable power supply cords are available
and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power cord
or extension cord is used (1) the marked eieotrical rating of the extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and (2) the
longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the oouniertop or table
top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. The
electrical rating of the appliance is listed on tha bottom of the unit. If the appliance is
of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounded type 3 wire cord.
This appliance has a polarized plug. One blade is wider than the other. As

a

safety

feature this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. if the plug does not fit,
contact a qualified efectrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
