GRINDING TIPS

1) The COARSE grind is generally used for percolators and coffee urns. MEDIUM

grind is used for drip coffee makers and sleam-type espresso machines. A

FINE grind is used for espresso machines with an electric pump.

2) Your coffee grinder needs to cool after each 60 seconds of use. This cooling

period protects your ground coffee from becoming overheated before it is

brewed.

3) Vary the grinding times to suit your taste and type of beans you grind.

4)

For the freshest, most flavorful coffee, grind only enough for the pot you are

making. Coffee beans keep up to 2 months in the freezer in an airtight

container and can be ground while still frozen. Coffee grounds left In your

coffee grinder can become stale and affect the flavor of freshly ground

coffee. Be sure to clean grinding bowl, blades and cover after each use. (See

"Cleaning Your Coffee Grinder" section)

5) This grinder can be used to grind herbs and spices, such as peppercorns,

cardamom, celery seed, coriander and mustard. It can also be used for

grinding nuts.

NOTE: If the unit is used for grinding something other than coffee (acceptable

examples mentioned above) please make sure that the grinder is cleaned

thoroughly after use. Please refer to the "Cleaning Your Coffee Grinder"

section of the instruction manual for detailed cleaning instructions

CAUTION: Do not attempt to grind anything that is moist, gummy or very hard.

Do not try to grind chocolate nor attempt to make pastes from seeds such as

poppy, sesame or sunflower. Do not use grains including corns, rice or barley

as they may pit or damage the cover. Grinding cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves is

not advised, as their oils will stain the plastic cover.
