P lace chute tube (Fig. 14} in elbow . P lace chute

tube over chute extension (Fig. 14} and secure by

pulling rubber iatch on chute extension over latch

pin (Fig. 14 ~ U pper Inset) on chute tube,

inside of top cover. U se latches to secure top cover

to pins of fram e assem blies.

W hen

operating

your

grass

catcher

on

a

law n

w here

grass and leaf bagging equipm ent has not been used, you

are picking up thatch and debris that has accum ulated

for long periods of tim e. The am ount collected and the

total tim e of operation m ay be greater than you w ill ex­

perience w ith regular use of your grass catcher.

TIPS FOR IMPROVED BAGGING OPERATION:

1. P lace throttle control at full throttle.

2.

S elect a gear low enough to give good m ow er cut­

ting perform ance, good quality cut and good bag­

ging

perform ance.

N O TE :

It

m ay

be

necessary

to

overlap w idth of cut to suit your conditions.

3.

if grass is extrem ely tail, it should be m o w ed tw ice.

The first tim e relatively high, the second tim e to

desired height. N O TE : U se L.H . side of m ow er for

trim m ing.

4.

P lastic law n bags can be inserted inside grass cat­

cher containers for ease of debris disposal.

A void cutting w et grass or in the m orning w hile the

dew is still heavy. G rass clippings collected under

these conditions tend to be sticky and adhere to the

w alls of the flow path causing clogging.

6.

K eep clear grass catcher chute tube deary so that

dogging can be detected.

BLADES, SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, ENGAGE
THE PARKING BRAKE AND SHUT OFF THE
ENGINE BEFORE REMOVING TUBE TO
CLEAR OBSTRUCTION,

If the grass catcher fails to pick up cut grass or leaves,

it

is

an

indication

that

dogging

has

occurred

in

the

system (S ee S tep 1 below ) or that the grass catcher con­

tainers are full (S ee step 2 below ).

1. S top tractor and m ow er and rem ove dogged grass.

D isengage blades, shift into neutral, engage the

parking brake and stop the engine.

U nlatch cover (Fig. I SI. R em ove grass catcher

assem blies.

b. R em ove the grass catchers and replace

assem blies.

C lose cover and latch.
