THEORY OF OPERATION

Thisunit Is a portable alrcteanerem ploying one Iherni ally pro­
tected, high performance motor producing very high velocity

air flow through the unit Rne solid particulate materfai and

smoke may be removed from the air by the fitter media.

Use of any product other than that recommended by the
manufacbjrer will void the warranty.

The main (orfirtalf fitter may be selected from several grades
available, depending upon the level of performance d^red.
All of these are high efficiency multi-flow fitters which feature
extended surface area for long life In velocity ftttration
systems. See the Replacement Parts & Fitters section toward
the efKt of this manual for part mimbers and fitter effidendes.

OPERATION

Your ACE Industrial Products machine Is designed as a
source capture device, l.e.. It Is Intended to eliminate smoke
and parllctiate at their point of origin. Keeping this in mind,
the machine should be operated in the following manner

Re-read the section on Safety Warnings & Cautions before
proceeding any further.

1. Place the machine on a fiat, level surface. Pick a location

that will allow unrestricted flow of the exhaust air to the
atmosphere.

2. For units with wheels or casters, lock the wheels or block

the wheels.

3. Place the collection nozzle as dose to the work as practi-

ceil without irrterferirtg with the operator. Secure the nozzle
if necessary.

4. Using the OrVOff switch, turn the machine On. Should the

motor not start, or should the machine make unusual
noises, Immediately turn the machirw off artd seek trabed
maintenance personnel. Do not continue to use the de­

vice.

5. Upon completion of the spedflc manufacturing or welding

operation, turn the machine off. Continuous running of the

njachine will continue to remove particulates from the

gerteral environment агк1 will cause premature dogging of
the filters.

SefecUon of the filter best suited for the job should be dis­
cussed with a dealer or a factory representative.

A dlfferentiaJ pressure gage Is an integral part of the unit.
When the filters becorrve dogged, the gage wl8 Indicate an

increase in differential pressure. At mis point, the fitters

filter can be changed several times before tire main fitter must

be changed. Changing the prefltters regularly can extend the
useful Itie of the final fitter up to 50%.

UNPACKING

Carefully inspect the unit for corK»aIed damage that may

have occurred during shlpplr>g and harKllIng, If any damage
Is found, Immediately contact me freight comparty. Make sure
that there are r>o dents In the housing, as they will prevent the
fitters from sliding into the units smoothty.

6. When the ‘fitter dogged" light or the differential pressure

gage (depending upon mod^ indicate that the filter(s) are
doggOT, turn the machine ofi ard remove the power cord
from its power source.

See the section on Inslallatkxi and use the reverse proc­
ess to remove the dirty fitters. Re-instali new fitters and

reconnect the machine to Its power source.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

ONLY QUAURED SERVICE TECHNICIANS SHOULD MAKE

REPAIRS TO THIS UNIT.

DO NOT REPLACE THESE MOTORS WITH MOTORS

OTHER THAN THOSE RECOMMENDED BY THE MANU­

FACTURER.
