PLACING TELEPHONE CALLS

SCRATCH-PAD DIALING

To Place a Call

1. Enter telephone number with the handset on-hook

or ofF-hook. The last ten digits of the dialed number

are displayed on the digital readout.

2. If a dialing error is made, press

the telephone number again.

after the called party answers to proceed with your
conversation.

If the Call Falls to go Through

1. If you hear the “reorder” signal, hang up and try again.

If there were no dialing errors, press |SBWP| for

automatic redial (re-dialing is not necessary).

2. If the “intercept” signal is heard, hang up. It then will

be neces.sar\' for you to redial the correct number.

Terminating a Call (Hanging Up)

Press teNDl, or replace the handset in the cradle, The

To Receive Calls

1. When rhe telephone rings, lift rhe handset to answer.

2. If the handset is out of the cradle when ringing starts,

to answer the call.

3. If you desire to enter the call in the “hands ft-ee” mode,

leave the handset in the cradle, press..

and then

for operation through the headset.

This feature permits you, while engaged in a

conversation, to enter a number to be re-dialed (or
store a number in memory) without hearing annoying
tones over your circuit.

When In the Hands-Free Mode

1. Press llQNEl , then enter the telephone number. The

headset will remain active, but the tones will not be
heard.

2. If necessary', press

(yt)u will hear a tone); then

enter the memory' address (01 through 30). Wait for

another tone.

3. Press [fa-EARj , You will then hear three tone.s, after

which you may prtx'eed with the next number,

4. To exit the “scratch pad” mode, press the

button again.

When Not in the Hands-Free Mode

1. Press

. The handset is muted, and you will

hear the other party’s voice from the loudspeaker,

2. Enter the telephone number (you may enter the

number with the handset either “off-hook” or
“on-hook’’).

3. If necessary, press (STGRI^l (you will hear a

“beep"); then enter the memory address (01 through
30), ’Wait for ant)ther “beep,”

4. Press

. You will then hear three “beeps,”

after which you may prcxeed with the next number.

5. To return to normal conversation: if “off hook"

press the ^

button; if “on hook” lift the

To Place a Call to a Number in the Memory

1. Press {HECAtt j, then enter the memory address (01

through 30). The last ten digits of the number will appear
on the readout. If the number is longer than 10 digitSi

hold down the second digit of the rhemory address
(after pressing

) to see the prefix.

2. Press |^Nt>i . The

indicator will light as the

call is placed.

HORN ALERT

1. Press

button until the indicator

lights. Turn off the ignition .s-witch, but leave the car

telephone power switch ON. If necessary, kxk the unit.

2. 'When a call is received, the unit will sound the horn

or flash the lights five times, depending on how it has

been wired.

3. This mode is automatically deactivated when the

ignition switch is turned to the “on" or “accessory'”
positions, or, to prevent di.scharging the battery, after
