Instructions
FOR USE WITH THE D51430 MEDIUM CROWN STAPLER
If you should have difficulty understanding the following instruc-
tions contact a D
E WALT service center or an authorized D E WALT
service person.
Important Safety Instructions
• Read and understand tool instruction manual before attempting
repairs.
• Use only genuine D E WALT replacement parts.
• Always wear ANSI compliant eye protection.
• Disconnect air from tool and remove all nails before servicing.
• Always point tool in safe direction when reconnecting air supply.
CAUTIONS:
• Do not allow dirt, dust or other foreign materials to enter the tool.
• Be careful not to scratch or damage the O-rings or any internal
surfaces.
TO REPLACE ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect air from tool before servicing
or repairing.
2. Remove all nails from the magazine and
nosepiece before servicing or repairing.
3. Remove 4 screws from top cap (A) with
4 mm Allen wrench provided in kit box.
4. Remove cylinder hold-down (B) from
tool.
5. Remove piston/driver subassembly (C), cylinder (D), bumper (E),
bumper plate (F), and bulkhead (G) from the tool.
6. Lubricate piston/driver O-ring (H) with the grease provided.
7. Replace piston/driver subassembly (C), cylinder (D), bumper (E),
bumper plate (F) and bulkhead (G) back into the tool. Make sure
the bulkhead is properly seated.
8. Replace cylinder hold-down (B) onto top of bulkhead (E).

9. Ensure top gasket (J) is properly
placed between the top cap and
frame before fastening the top cap.
10. Replace top cap (A) and fasten 4
screws with a 4 mm Allen wrench.
11. Tighten screws snugly to prevent
leaks.
12. Ensure trigger and contact trip are
working smoothly.
13. Set pressure on compressor or air
line at 80 psi.
14. Pointing tool in safe direction, connect tool to air supply. Tool must
not leak air.
15. Check for proper operation of tool. If tool continues to leak air or if
problems persist, take nailer to a D E WALT service center.
16. If warning labels are missing or damaged, request replacements
from a D E WALT service center.

• Toujours orienter l’outil dans une direction sûre avant de raccorder
l’outil au circuit d’alimentation en air.
MISES EN GARDES :
• Ne laisser aucune saleté ou matière étrangère pénétrer à l’intérieur
de l’outil.
• Éviter d’égratigner ou d’endommager les joints toriques et les
surfaces internes.
REMPLACEMENT DE L’ENSEMBLE
1. Débrancher l’outil du circuit d’alimentation en air avant d’effectuer
les opérations d’entretien ou de réparation.
2. Retirer tous les clous du chargeur et
du nez avant d’effectuer les opéra-
tions d’entretien ou de réparation.
3. Enlever les quatre vis du capuchon
supérieur (A) au moyen de la
clé Allen de 4 mm fournie dans le
coffret.
4. Retirer le dispositif de fixation du
cylindre (B) de l’outil.
