IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed.
These include the following:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

 Do not place any part of this toaster in water or any other liquid.

 To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plugs, or any wiring

in water or other liquid.

 Prior to first use, the toaster should be used for a few minutes without bread in

it. There might be some smoke or odor at first; this is entirely normal.

 Do not touch the hot surface.

Use the handles or knobs.

 Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. IMPORTANT:

Allow to cool fully before removing or replacing image plates.

 If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by an

authorised technical service.

 Do not use outdoors.

 Keep the toaster out of reach of children.

 Use only pre-sliced bread.

 Do not insert oversized foods, metal foil packages, or metal utensils into the

toaster. This may result in

fire

or electric shock.

 Do not use the toaster near or below curtains, upholstery or other decorative

fabrics, or other combustible materials as they can easily catch fire and cause a
safety hazard. Bread may burn and must be watched.

 Do not remove food or image plates from the toaster while toaster is in use

and the plunger is down.

 Do not remove the crumb tray while the toaster is plugged in. Disconnect from

power supply, wait for it to cool, then remove the crumb tray.

 The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is

operating.

 A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from

becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

a) If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is

purchased separately, the marked electrical rating of the cord set or
extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the
appliance, and

b) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the

countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped
over unintentionally.
