Operating Instructions:

1. Operators should familiarize themselves with the correct setting procedures of the rivet set to ensure proper operation of the

tool and correct installation of the rivet. See the information sheet for correct settings.

2. Select the correct rivet set per the following:

a.

Rivet

type

b.

Rivet

diameter

c. Thickness of material to be riveted

Properly calculate to required rivet set per application. See Alligator Jaw and “C” Yoke nomenclature sheet.

3. Refer to information sheet on selecting rivet sets for compression riveters to determine correct length of rivet set required.

**Note that this type of tool reaches maximum power near the end of the stroke and the rivet will not be properly set if tool
does not reach full stroke.

4. Always disconnect tool from air supply when changing or adjusting rivet set.

5. Make trial installations in test material to assure proper rivet set adjustment.

6. To activate tool, depress throttle lever by pushing lever forward and down. The forward motion is required to clear the safety

throttle valve before the lever can be depressed. Release lever.

7. Do not use tool for anything other than its intended purpose.

Principle of Operation:

Air powered compression riveters deliver a squeezing action that drives the rivet by “fl owing” the rivet metal with compressed forces.
Squeezing action is obtained by coupling an air cylinder and piston to a wedge or cam thus multiplying the original force to extreme
ratios. High compressive forces are obtained from a relatively compact unit having small diameter cylinders and using very little
compressed air.
