OPERATION

SDS CHUCk

See Figures 4 - 5.

The rotary hammer has an SDS chuck that is used with
SDS bits. A keyless chuck is also supplied with the rotary
hammer. The rotary hammer can be used with just the SDS
chuck or with the supplied keyless chuck installed into the
SDS chuck.

To install chuck and bits into the SDS chuck:

Unplug the rotary hammer.

Slide the chuck body down.

Install the SDS chuck or bit into the chuck.

Release the chuck body.

Once the keyless chuck has been installed into the SDS
chuck, the keyless chuck can now be used with standard
drill bits.
The keyless chuck makes it simple to tighten or release drill bits
in the chuck jaws. Grasp and hold the collar of the chuck with
one hand. Rotate the chuck body

with your other hand. The

arrows on the chuck indicate which direction to rotate the chuck
body in order to

GRIP (tighten) or RELEASE the drill bit.

WARNING:

Do not hold the chuck body with one hand and use the
power of the rotary hammer to tighten the chuck jaws
on the drill bit. The chuck body could slip in your hand,
or your hand could slip and come in contact with the
rotating drill bit. This could cause an accident resulting
in serious personal injury.

WARNING:

Always unplug the tool when installing or removing bits,
adjusting settings, or when the tool is not in use. Failure
to unplug the tool may result in accidental starting and
serious personal injury.
