Chapter 1 : INTRODUCTION

1-1. SUPPLIED EQUIPMENT

• 1 UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

(UB813)

• 1 AC Power Supply Cord.

1-2. GENERAL INFORMATION

The UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

is a multiway - 8 x {1 Input to a 3 way Output} - distribution amplifier for RGBHV,

RGB/S, RGsB, YUV, Computer, Video & HDTV signals.

Each of the 8 independent inputs can be split into 3 separately buffered outputs. It is the equivalent of integrating in the
same enclosure, 8 different booster boxes of 1 to 3 outputs each. In other words, it saves space, cost and power
consumption.

The Universal Booster

offers a 300 MHz bandwidth for signal transparency.

The UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

virtually splits and boosts any Computer, HDTV and SDTV sources such as PC,

MAC

, laptop, any workstation, line doubler, scaler, video presenter, video & industrial camera, VCR, DVD, laser

disc.


1-3. INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: Please read all of the safety instructions (page 2 to 4) before starting.

• Table top mounting: The UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

can also be used directly on a table. The unit is delivered with 4

plastic feet.

• Rack mounting:

The UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

is compatible with a 19” enclosure. Please follow the

instructions below to install the UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

in a 19” rack.

c Place the UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

in your rack.

NOTE: Your rack must be equipped with some braces.

d Attach the UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

to the rack by using 4 screws in the front panel holes

(screws are not included).

e Connect all of the cables of the UNIVERSAL BOOSTER

and attach them to the rack with

some tie wraps.

IMPORTANT:

- Be sure that no weight in excess of 2 kg (4.4 Lbs.) is added onto the UNIVERSAL

BOOSTER

.

- The maximum ambient operating temperature must not exceed 40 °C (104 °F).
- The rack and all mounted equipment in it must be reliably grounded to national and local

electrical codes.
