fire or short circuited.

ronment. Always dispose of batteries in accordance with applicable

legal regulations. Do not dispose of batteries with the normal house-

hold waste.

General notes

Note

• This ear thermometer is a sensitive electronic device. Handle it with

care and do not subject it to any mechanical impacts.

• The ear thermometer is NOT waterproof. Keep it dry, and avoid contact

with moisture, liquids, direct sunlight, high temperatures, high humidity

and high dust concentrations.

• The ear thermometer has been designed for practical use, but is not

a substitute for a visit to the doctor.

• The FT 78 ear thermometer is only designed for the measuring area

on the human body stated in the instructions for use.

• The device is only intended for the purpose stated in these instruc-

tions for use.

• After each use, clean the measuring probe with a soft cloth moistened

with disinfectant.

• Before each repair query, first check the batteries and replace them

if necessary.

• Repairs must only be carried out by authorised service centres, oth-

erwise the guarantee is invalidated.

WARNING

• The body temperature measured in the ear may differ from other meas-

urements taken in the mouth, rectum or armpits. Any comparison of

these values is therefore impractical. Measure temperature regularly

to calculate the normal ear temperature and then use these measure-

ments as a basis for comparison when taking measurements in the

event of a suspected high temperature.

• This thermometer is intended for measuring the temperature in the

ear. Do not use this thermometer for measurements in other parts

of the body.

• Replace the protective cover after each use to ensure an accurate

measurement and prevent cross contamination.

• The thermometer may only be used with protective caps from Beurer;

other protective caps may result in faulty measurements. If you have

run out of protective caps, contact the manufacturer or retailer for

replacements.

• Consult a doctor if you believe your medical condition to be poor.
