CONNECTING THE PC TO THE RADIO
The RSS programming software will run on a PC with a Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT, or XP operating
system. The computer’s serial port is connected to either the Receiver or Transmitter front panel RJ45
jack through a Daniels Radio Programming Interface Module (RPIM), as shown in Figure 5-1.

The RSS may display a run-time error and fail to communicate with the module when used with some
USB to serial adapters. Table 5-1 shows USB to serial adapters that have been successfully tested for
compatibility with Daniels RSS software.
