MANAGEMENT

8.1

Introduction

Serial-based Remote Product Management of the CTOG-250 Comtech Traffic Optimization Gateway is available using the CTOG-250 back

panel ‘SERIAL’ port.

1. TO PROCEED WITH ETHERNET-BASED REMOTE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT (SNMP OR WEB SERVER), ASSUMPTIONS ARE

MADE THAT:

The CTOG-250 and its CDM-800 Gateway Router are interconnected and are operating with the latest version

firmware files.

The CTOG-250 is connected to a user-supplied, Windows-based PC as follows:

o The PC serial port is connected to the CTOG-250 back panel ‘SERIAL’ port with a user-supplied serial cable.

o The PC Ethernet port is connected to the CTOG-250 back panel ‘MGMT-1’ 10/100/1000 BaseT Gigabit Ethernet

port with a user-supplied hub, switch, or direct Ethernet cable connection.

o The user PC is running a terminal emulation program (for operation of the CTOG-250 Serial Interface) and a
