Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions

Operation and Maintenance:

Analog feedback modules are simple and require no main-
tenance. However, it is suggested that periodic checks be

made for proper operation. Analog feedback modules do
contain some field serviceable parts.

*Note: The “A” in the fourth digit represents a standard linear positioner cam. Other positioner cams are

available (B = 30,45,60,90 degree linear, C = characterized, D = 60 degree butterfly valve cam). Refer to
the Apex 5000 sales bulletin or consult factory for more information.

Problem

Output not continuous throughout
actuator/valve stroke (experience a
band of max. output).

Transmitter does not put out 4 or
20 mA at desired end of travel.

Transmitter Module does not provide
current signal or provides constant
signal.

Probable Cause/Solution

Potentiometer out of adjustment (see “Resistive
Feedback Calibration” or “4-20” mA Transmitter
Calibration steps 2-4").

Zero or span trim pot is out of adjustment (see
“4-20 mA Transmitter Calibration”).

Circuit Board LED not lit:
1. Loose or shorted signal connection (no loop power).
2. Controller board not responding (replace board).
Circuit Board LED lit:
1. Potentiometer disengaged.
2. Defective potentiometer or controller board (replace).
