The application may choose a different algorithm if necessary, however one important condition
has to be met: whenever a new video input is connected to the decoder channel, a period of at
least 3 video frames has to be allowed for re-synchronization before capturing from this channel
again. In the above example this condition is met by means of going through four channels in a
cycle.
