Remove battery if appliance is not used for long periods.

Press against the marking on the narrow side of the battery
compartment cover
3 until you feel a resistance. This re-
leases the tabs from their openings.

Pull off the battery compartment cover 3 .

Insert a 1.5 V type C battery (see Fig. B).
Note: Insert the battery into the battery compartment and
ensure that the polarity is correct. To do so, please refer to
the picture in the battery compartment.

Close the battery compartment by pressing the battery
compartment cover

carefully on to the battery compart-
ment again until you hear and feel the two tabs engage.
