Incorrect operation and improper use can damage the appliance and cause injury to the user

.

The appliance may be used only for it’

s intended purpose. No responsibility can be taken for any possible

damage caused through incorrect use or improper handling.

Before connecting the appliance to the power source, check that the current and power match those given on

the rating plate.

Do not put the appliance or the plug in water or any other liquid. However should the appliance accidentally fall

into water

, unplug the appliance immediately and have it checked by a qualified person before using it again.

Non-observance could cause a fatal electric shock!

Never attempt to open the housing yourself.

Do not place any kind of object into the inside of the housing.

Do not use the appliance with wet hands, on a damp floor or when the appliance itself is wet.

Do not touch the plug with wet or damp hands.

Check the cord and the plug regularly for any possible damage. If the cord or plug is damaged, it must be

replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

Do not use the appliance if it is dropped or otherwise damaged or if the cord or plug are damaged. In the case

of damage, take the appliance to an electrical repair shop for examination and repair if necessary

.

Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself.

This could cause an electric shock.

Do not allow the cord to hang over sharp edges and keep it well away from hot objects and naked flames.

Remove the plug from the socket only by holding the plug.

For extra protection it is possible to fit the electric household installation with a fault current breaker with a rated

breaking current of not more than 30mA.

Ask your electrician for advice.

Make sure that there is no danger that the cord or extension cord may inadvertently be pulled or cause anyone

to trip when in use.

If an extension cord is used it must be suited to the power consumption of the appliance, otherwise overheating

of the extension cord and/or plug may occur

.

This appliance is not suitable for commercial use nor for use in the open air

.

Never leave the appliance unattended while it is in use.

Children cannot recognise the dangers involved in the incorrect use of electrical appliances.

Therefore never

allow children to use household appliances without supervision.

Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and each time before it is cleaned.

Danger!

Nominal voltage is still present in the appliance as long as the appliance is connected to the mains

socket.

Switch the appliance of

Do not heat up the unit when empty

. It must be switched only after pouring oil or fat in the fried stuf

f container (9).

Observe the filling mark (4) inside the fried stuf

f container (9). Do not fill in too much or too little oil or fat in the

fried stuf

f container (9).

Burning hazard! Be careful while handling hot oils, fats or other fluids!

This is particularly important if the

unit is being pushed along with the contents. W

atch out for oil sprays and vapours!

S

ee that the frying basket (16) fits correctly in the fried stuf

f container (9) and that the lid (8) is closed

completely

. Do not operate the unit with the lid (8) open!

There should be no easily inflammable materials near to the unit when it is in operation.

Never operate the unit without supervision.

If the oil starts burning, close the lid (8) and pull out the main plug (1

1) immediately

.

Use only good quality oils. Do not mix dif

ferent oils or fats with each other

.

Use only accessories that are original or recommended by the manufacturer

.

Let the unit, as well as hot oils and facts, cool down at a place that is safe and not accessible to children.

BEFORE ST

ARTING FOR THE FIRST TIME

Remove all packing material.

Clean the unit as described under

Cleaning and Care

. Particularly the frying basket (16), fried stuf

f container (9)

and gripping handle (13). Dry all parts before use.

T

ip:

The unit, on its first use, might emit light smell or smoke. It is however of no consequence and lasts only

briefly

. Ensure suf

ficient ventilation.

OPERA

TION

Prepare the stuf

f to be fried.

Open the lid (8) of the unit and remove the frying basket (16).

Now fill in some suitable foodstuf

f grade oil in the fried stuf

f container (9). W

e

recommend using a good,

vegetable-base oil. Fill the oil at least up to the minimum marking (4), found inside the fried stuf

f container (9).

T

ake care not to exceed the maximum marking (4) in any case.

Using solid frying fat:

First, melt fat in a pot on low heat.

Then fill in the melted fat in the fried stuf

f container

(9) very carefully

.

Using fat hardened in the fried stuff container (9):

Poke the fat with a fork before heating.

T

ake care not to

damage the frying basket (16) and the fried stuf

f container (9).

Then heat the fat on low heat.

Please do not use any margarine or butter; it starts smoking even at very low temperature!

Caution: Danger of spraying!

Dry the damp frying stuf

f before frying it.

T

urn the controller (7) in a counter-clockwise direction up to the end point (= Position

OFF

).

Connect the mains plug (1

1) to a socket.

The display

(5) lights up.

P

lace the desired stuf

f to be fried in the frying basket (16).

The stuf

f to be fried must not rise above the

maximum marking (4) made on the top side of the frying basket (16).

Frying stuf

f rising above this maximum marking (4) is not fried as well as one would desire.

Set the controller (7) on the desired temperature, turning it in the clockwise direction.

The duration of frying and

the requisite temperature depend on the nature and composition of the stuf

f to be fried. Please follow the

information given by the relevant foodstuf

f manufacturer

.

The heating element (3) inside the frying stuf

f container (9) now begins to heat up the oil to the desired

temperature.

As soon as this temperature is reached, the display

ow you can fry the foodstuf

f. Press the open side of the gripping tongs (13) lightly together (

see the figure

).

Now insert both the bulges on the gripping tongs (13) into the openings of the frying basket bracket (14).

Release the pressed gripping tongs (13).
