Using the aluminium jump leads / Care and maintenance / Disposal

RISK OF EXPLOSION! On no

account should you connect the
negative pole to the flat battery as

there is a risk that sparks may fly and ignite
explosive gases.

1. Connect the red aluminium jump lead

with

the red pole terminal (+)

to the positive

pole on battery (A).

2. Connect the other pole terminal

of the

aluminium jump lead

3

to the positive pole of

the donor battery (B).

3. Connect the black aluminium jump lead

with the black pole terminal (–)

4

to the neg-

ative pole of the donor battery (B).

4. Then connect the other pole terminal

4

of the

black aluminium jump lead

1

to the vehicle

chassis, e.g. on the earthing strap or another
unpainted part on the engine block of the bro-
ken-down vehicle (A).

Note: The parts should be as far away as possi-
ble form the starter battery in order to prevent any
explosive gas that may develop from being ignited.

Q

Starting

After you have connected the aluminium jump
leads, first switch on the engine of the vehicle
with the donor battery (car B). Then start the
motor of the broken-down vehicle (car A).

Note: After every attempt to start the car - which
should not be longer than 15 seconds - wait for
at least 1 minute. If you cannot start the car after
several attempts, contact a garage.

After successfully starting the broken-down
vehicle (car A) wait for 2 to 3 minutes until the
engine is running smoothly.

Q

Disconnecting

Note: When the motor has started, switch on the
electric consumers, e.g. car lights or rear window
heating, in order to prevent voltage peaks.

Note: Disconnect the aluminium jump leads in the
reverse order to the way they were connected.

1. Remove the pole terminal

of the black alu-

minium jump lead

1

from the vehicle chassis

of the broken-down car (A).

2. Then disconnect the other pole terminal

of

the black aluminium jump lead

1

from the

negative pole of the donor battery (B).

3. and 4. Remove the two pole terminals

2

of the

red aluminium jump lead

3

in any order you

wish (A, B).

When removing the aluminium jump leads,
make sure that they do not come into contact
with the moving parts of the engine.

Note: Do not switch the vehicle that has been alu-
minium jump started off immediately. Drive the vehi-
cle around for a while so that the battery is recharged
by the alternator.

Care and maintenance

DANGER TO LIFE FROM

ELECTRIC SHOCK! For reasons of electrical
safety, the aluminium jump lead may never be
cleaned with water or other fluids and never be
immersed into water.

After using the aluminium jump lead, always
store it in the storage bag it came in to protect
the product from damp and dirt.

Note: The aluminium jump lead should always be
carried safely in the vehicle.

Do not use any solvents, petrol etc. Otherwise

there is danger of material damage.

Use a dry lint-free cloth for cleaning.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of
recyclable materials, which you may
dispose of at local recycling facilities.
