IN-CAR CHARGER

Read through the operating instructions carefully
before using for the fi rst time and retain them for future
use. If you are handing over the device to another
person also include the instructions.

Intended use

The In-Car charger is intended exclusively for the
charging of mobile phones. Any other use or usage
beyond those mentioned is considered improper use
and can result in damages and injuries. Claims of
any kind for damages resulting from improper use or
unauthorised modifi cations will not be considered.
This product is intended for private use only and not
for commercial applications.

Safety instructions

Before use check the device for visible external

damage. Do not put into operation a device that
is damaged or has been dropped.

Damaged cables or connections should be replaced

by authorised qualifi ed specialists or by the customer
service department.

Protect the device from moisture and liquid penetration.

Never subject the device to extreme heat or humidity.

This applies especially when storing in a car. With
long periods of immobilisation car interiors and
glove boxes build up extreme heat levels. Remove
electrical and electronic devices from the car.

This device is not intended for use by persons

(including children) with restricted physical, sensory
or mental abilities or lack of experience and/or
knowledge unless, of course, they are supervised by
a person responsible for their safety or obtain from
that person instructions on how the device is to be
used. Children should be supervised to make sure
that they do not play with the device.

Before initial operation check the package contents to
make sure everything is there and for possible visible
damages. If the package contents are incomplete or
are damaged as a result of defective packaging or
during transportation get in touch with the Service-Hotline
(see section “Warranty and service”). Remove all
packaging materials from the device.

Operation

Unpack the charging device and all adapters and
look for the adapter suitable for your mobile phone.
First check to make sure that the adapter fi ts.

NOTE

Do not apply excessive force thus avoiding dam-

age to the connector. This also applies when
removing the connector. Many adapters have to
be pressed lightly downwards (Sony Ericsson™)
or small buttons have to be pressed (Samsung™)
to remove the adapter from the phone.

Now plug the charging device into the 12/24 V

power socket of your car. As a rule this is the
cigarette lighter socket in the dashboard of your
car. Numerous vehicles have a second socket in
the rear seat area or in the boot. 24 Volt batteries
are used, primarily, in trucks or on boats.
The green LED signalises the operating mode

display of the charging device, it also lights up if
no mobile phone is connected. Depending on the
vehicle type it is possible that the ignition has to
be switched on fi rst. The charging process begins
immediately and is shown in your mobile phone’s
display.
When your mobile phone shows a fully charged

battery remove the charging device from the
12/24V connection. Remove the charging device
only by grasping the plug never pull it out by the
power cord.

IMPORTANT

Never connect the device without charging your

mobile phone! The device also consumes power
in standby mode and therefore must be discon-
nected from the on-board power supply after use!

Cleaning and Care

IMPORTANT

Disconnect the device before cleaning and when

not in use from the 12/24V connection to avoid
the risk of an electric shock.

When necessary clean the device with a soft cloth.

Check the condition of the device at regular
intervals. Do not continue to use the device if you
notice damages.

Disposal

Do not dispose of the device in your
normal domestic waste. This product
is subject to the provisions of Euro-
pean Directive 2002/96/EC.

Dispose of the device via an approved disposal facility
or via your community disposal centre. Observe the
currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt,
please contact your waste disposal centre.

Dispose of all packaging materials in an
environmentally friendly manner.

Warranty and Service

With this device you receive a 3 year warranty from
the date of purchase. The device was meticulously
manufactured and thoroughly tested before delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In
the case of a warranty claim, please get in touch, by
telephone, with your service department. Only in this
way can a post-free dispatch for your goods be as-
sured. The warranty applies only to material or manu-
facturing defects and not for transport damage, wear
and tear or for damages to breakable parts such as
switches or rechargeable batteries. This product is
intended for private use only and not for commercial
applications.
If this product has been subjected to improper or
inappropriate handling, abuse, or modifi cations not
carried out by one of our authorised sales and service
outlets, the warranty becomes void.
Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by
this warranty. The warranty period will not be extended
as a result of warranty adjustments. This applies also
to replacement and repaired parts. Possible damage
and/or faults present at the time of purchase must be
reported immediately after unpacking or, at the very
latest, within two days after the purchase date. After
expiry of the warranty period incidental repairs are
subject to payment.
