Running the sybatch utility

To configure Adaptive Server with the

sybatch

utility:

Open a Command Prompt window.

Enter the following, where sybatch_sample.res is the name of the resource
file:

cd %SYBASE%\%SYBASE_ASE%\sample\server

sybatch -r sybatch_ase.res

When you have completed resource file installation, go to Chapter 3, “Post-
Installation Tasks.”

PATH-AND-NAME-OF-THE-BACKUP-ERRORLOG (Backup
Server)

The path in which Backup Server error logs are
placed, such as
c:\sybase\ASE-15_0\install\backup.log.

PORT-NUMBER (Backup Server)

The port number by which to identify Backup
Server on the network, such as 5001.

CHARACTERSET (Backup Server)

The character set used by Backup Server, such
as CP 850.

PUT-THE-PATH-AND-NAME-OF-THE-MONITOR-
ERRORLOG
(Monitor Server)

The path in which Monitor Server error logs
are placed, such as c:\sybase\ASE-
15_0\install\ms.log.

PORT-NUMBER (Monitor Server)

The port number by which to identify Monitor
Server on the network, such as 5002.

NAME-OF-THE-ADAPTIVE-SERVER (Adaptive Server name)

The name of the default server to be used as a
model to create Monitor Server. Example
names include TEST-MS or USE-DEFAULT.
If you specified a custom Adaptive Server
name, add the extension “-MS” to the name.

NAME-OF-THE-MONITOR-SERVER (Monitor Server)

The Monitor Server name. Example names
include TEST-MS or USE-DEFAULT. If you
specified a custom Adaptive Server name, add
the extension “-MS” to the name.
