The MLP 101 AAP, shown here in the MLC 226 IP AAP
Medialink Controller with optional AC NET AAP,
provides convenient microphone connectivity for
lectern applications.
The Extron MLP 101, MLP 101 AAP, and MLP 101 D Mic to Line
Preamplifiers are compact mic preamps for applications where a
microphone must be connected to a line level audio input on a device
such as a switcher or line level mixer. Mic level signals are boosted up
to balanced or unbalanced line level signals. These preamps also allow
a microphone to be connected to the Aux/Mix input on the Extron
MediaLink
™
series of switchers.
MLP 101
The front panel of the MLP 101 features a continuous gain control
for precise adjustment of input microphone level. Toggle switches are
provided to engage 48 volt phantom power for compatibility with
condenser microphones, and a switchable low cut filter at 75 Hz to
reduce rumble and wind noise picked up by the microphone. Input
and output connections are provided on the rear panel using captive
screw connectors. The MLP 101’s output can be remotely controlled
for microphone level adjustment via a 10k potentiometer, and muting
via contact closure using the VCM 100 AAP, VCM 100 MAAP, or a
third-party solution. Part of the VersaTools
®
line of small, economical,
integrator friendly products, the MLP 101 is housed in a 1U, one-
eighth rack width metal enclosure for numerous installation options.
MLP 101 AAP
The MLP 101 AAP provides all of the same functions as the
MLP 101 within a double-space AAP - Architectural Adapter Plate
active module. The front panel features a microphone input on an
XLR connector, a recessed input gain control that can be concealed,
and a push-button for muting the audio. The rear panel features a
captive screw connector for the output, and slide switches for 48 volt
phantom power and 75 Hz low cut filtering. The MLP 101 AAP can
easily be mounted in any Extron product or mounting frame with an
opening for a double-space AAP.
MLP 101 D
The MLP 101 D offers the same features and functions as the
MLP 101 AAP, but in a form factor designed for wall mounting
with the included Decora-style wall plate. It can be installed with or
without a one-gang electrical box.

Selectable 48 volt phantom power – Provides voltage for
condenser microphones.

Precise mic input gain adjustment – A continuous, rotary trim
pot allows for precise setting of microphone input gain from +25
to +72 dB to accommodate various microphone signal levels.
For the MLP 101 AAP and MLP 101 D, the pot is recessed on the
front panel and can be concealed with a security cap to prevent
unauthorized use.

Remote volume and mute control capability – Allows volume
adjustment and muting of the MLP Series’ output using the
VCM 100 Volume and Mute Controllers or a third-party controller.

Selectable 75 Hz low cut filter – Rolls off frequencies below
75 Hz, so that rumble and wind noise are reduced without
affecting vocal range frequencies.

Mute button - MLP 101 AAP – Easily allows the presenter to mute
the microphone input. An LED reference gives visual feedback as to
whether the mic is active or muted.

Integration friendly connectivity – The MLP 101 features
microphone input and line level output on captive screw
connectors. The MLP 101 AAP and MLP 101 D feature input on an
XLR connector, and output on a captive screw connector.

Flexible mounting options – The MLP 101 is housed in a 1U,
one-eighth rack width metal enclosure and can be mounted under
or through a desk or in a rack. The MLP 101 AAP easily mounts
within a double-space AAP opening in a variety of AAP frames
and MLC lectern mounts. The MLP 101 D mounts in an included
Decora-style wall plate.
