All top covers include TouchPad board and capacitive board.

Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet,
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 39 ).
5. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 48 )
6. Remove the hard drive cover (see Hard drive on page 41 ).
Remove the top cover:
1. Turn the computer upside-down, with the front toward you.
2. Remove the two Torx T8M2.0×8.0 screws (1) located in the bottom feet. You do not need to
remove the feet.
3. Remove the two Torx T8M2.0×6.0 screws (2) located below the battery bay.
4. Turn the computer right-side up, with the front toward you.
5. Open the computer as far as possible.
6. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screws (1) from the top of the top cover.
7. Disconnect the TouchPad cable from the system board ZIF connector (2).
