Mark

Enable this option to insert a bookmark before every instance of the search term or string.

Count

Enable this option to see how many times a particular word or phrase appears in the

document.

Reflow

Selecting Reflow will take out every line break that is not followed by a blank line. If you do this

with nothing selected, Reflow will remove line breaks from the cursor down to the first double line break.
If you have text selected, it will perform the operation on everything in the selected block. To reflow an
entire document, you would 'Select All' and then choose reflow.
Some documents have line breaks every 40-80 characters instead of at the end of a paragraph. WordSmith
sees each of these as a new paragraph. Reflow essentially optimizes the formatting. However, if you do
this on a list, such as a table of contents, you will not get what you want. It will simply think the list is a
poorly formatted paragraph and make it into one paragraph. If this happens, simply select 'Abandon
Changes'. WordSmith will automatically recommend a reflow if there is not at least one paragraph in a
document that is 8K or larger.

Thesaurus

Selecting Thesaurus will call up a Thesaurus dialog box.

If you have a word selected (highlighted)or have your cursor in a word in your document or memo and you
select Thesaurus, WordSmith will automatically generate a list that includes synonyms that are nouns, verbs,
adjectives and adverbs. If you are only looking for synonyms that are nouns only (as in the screenshot on
the right), for example, you can tap on the Noun button on the right and the thesaurus will only list
synonyms that are nouns. If one of the synonyms seems to work for you, simply select it and then tap on
the Change button and it will replace the highlighted word in the document. You can also use the
Thesaurus to look up words that aren’t in your document but are in the list of synonyms found. Simply
select the word and then tap on Lookup. Tap on Cancel to exit the Thesaurus.
The Thesaurus was developed by DDH Software, Inc. (

www.ddhsoftware.com

). Please note that in order

to use the integrated Thesaurus, you need to install the Thesaurus.prc and a dictionary during the install
process. See Chapter 2 on installation for more information.

Check Spelling

Selecting Check Spelling will produce the Spell Checker dialog box on the left and the

pop-up menu on the right below:
