Once the remaining time runs out, movie recording
automatically stops and the movie is stored on the
SmartMedia.

During shooting, “hREC” appears on the screen
with a counter showing the remaining time
displayed in the top-right corner.

The time required to store a 60 seconds movie
(roughly 9 MB) is approximately 9 seconds.

!

If you start shooting and then immediately end
shooting, only 3 seconds of movie is recorded onto
the SmartMedia.

If you press the shutter button during shooting,
shooting ends and the movie is stored on the
SmartMedia.

MOVIE MODE

In Movie mode, the lens is locked at the wide-
angle setting and only the digital zoom can be
used. You can use “a (

)” and “b (

)” to

zoom in and out. A “zoom bar” is displayed on
the screen.

When you press the shutter button, there is a very
short delay before actual shooting begins.

You do not need to hold down the shutter button.

The focus is fixed 80 cm (2.6 ft.) to infinity.

The white balance is fixed during shooting, but the
exposure varies automatically to suit the scene being
shot.

Shooting begins when you fully depress the
shutter button.
