Replacing the system board
To replace the system board:

Follow the instructions in “Preventing static electricity discharge” on
page 25 .

Follow the instructions in “Opening the server case” on page 26 .

Remove all of the expansion cards. For more information, see “Installing
PCI expansion cards” on page 40 .

Remove the heat sink and processor. For more information, see “Replacing
the processor” on page 42 .

Remove the memory modules. For more information, see “Installing
memory” on page 38 .

Disconnect the power and data cables from the system board, noting their
locations and orientation. (You will reconnect the cables after you install
the new board.) Make sure that you disconnect the intrusion switch cable.

Remove the system board’s thumbscrew.
