3. Remove the split pin, nut (by turning in a clockwise

direction) and outer flange. Leave the inner flange fitted.

NOTE.

Insert the locking pin to prevent the shaft rotating

(Fig. D).

NOTE.

The outer flange is not used when fitting the line

trimmer head
4. Place the spool head on the end of the shaft and tighten

in an anti-clockwise. To do this you need to rotate the

spool until the holes of the inner flange and the gearbox

housing align, insert the locking pin to keep them still,

then firmly tighten the spool by

hand (Fig. H).

NOTE.

Before attempting to use

the line trimmer, pull both the

lines to release the bump fee

mechanism.

Fitting the secondary handle

The brush cutter comes with a

secondary handle (8) which can

be attached by fixing it to the

shaft with the screws and nuts

supplied (Fig. I).

IMPORTANT.

When using the

brush cutter or line trimmer head

the secondary handle must

ALWAYS be fitted.

Fuelling

MOTOR FUEL: MIX AT 40:1 ONLY

1. Use fresh unleaded petrol. You must use 2-stroke oil

specifically made for heavily stressed two-stroke engines.

2. Mix the petrol and oil in an approved container. Never mix

fuel in the brush cutter.

3. Place the brush cutter

upright on the ground or on

a sturdy bench and wipe

any debris from around the

fuel cap (Fig. J).

4. Unscrew the fuel tank cap

and pour the mixture into the

tank using a funnel (Fig. K).

5. Be careful not to spill any

mixture. If this happens, wipe

the spill with a clean rag.

6. Start the engine at least three

metres away from the area

where the fuel tank has been

filled up in order to avoid any

risk of fire.

Always use extreme care when handling fuel! Fuel is

highly flammable.

Never attempt to fuel the brush cutter if the fuel system

components are damaged or are leaking.

Never attempt the refuel the engine while it is running or

still warm, allow it to cool before fuelling.

Never smoke or light any fires near the brush cutter

or fuels.

Always transport and store fuels in an approved

container.

Never place flammable material close to the

engine muffler.

Do not use petrol which contains ethanol or methanol as

it may damage the fuel lines and other engine parts.
