Maintenance

LUBRICATION:
An automatic in-line filter-regulator-lubricator is recommended as it increases tool life
and keeps the tool in sustained operation. The in-line lubricator should be regularly
checked and filled with John Deere AT-4003 air tool oil. Proper adjustment of the in-line
lubricator is performed by placing a sheet of paper next to the exhaust ports and
holding the throttle open approximately 30 seconds. The lubricator is properly set when
a light stain of oil collects on the paper. Excessive amounts of oil should be avoided.

In the event that it becomes necessary to store the tool for an extended period of time
(overnight, weekend, etc.), it should receive a generous amount of lubrication at that
time. The tool should be run for approximately 30 seconds to ensure oil has been
evenly distributed throughout the tool. The tool should be stored in a clean and dry
environment.

Recommended lubricants: Use John Deere AT-4003 air tool oil or any other high
grade turbine oil containing moisture absorbent, rust inhibitors, metal wetting agents
and an EP (extreme pressure) additive.

Operation

PRE-OPERATION:
Before the tool is connected to the air supply, clear the air hose of accumulated dust
and moisture. Before removing a tool for service or changing accessories, make sure
the air line is shut-off and drained of air. This will prevent the tool from operating if the
throttle is accidentally engaged.

OPERATION:
Designed for use with recommended cut-off wheels rated at 22,000 RPM or higher. To
begin operation, grip tool and depress safety lock while engaging throttle. The metal
guard must be attached properly and in good condition before operation.

REPLACING CUT-OFF WHEELS:
Remove bolt form arbor. Slide cut-off wheel into position under guard. Thread bolt into
arbor until snug and check that disc is centered. Use two 1" wrenches to tighten bolt
and disc to arbor. Do not overtighten bolt, disc may crack under excessive torque.

After checking tool and installing cutting disc, connect air supply to tool. Start motor
before applying to work surface. Grip tool on housing only.

CAUTION:

CHIPS AND SPARKS MY BE THROWN
OUTSIDE THE GUARD, ALWAYS WEAR
PROPER EYE PROTECTION, AND RETAIN
A GOOD GRIP ON THE TOOL.
