Timer recording (cont’d)

Recording

• If there is a power failure or the unit has been unplugged for more than

1

minute, the clock setting and all timer settings will be lost.

• If a programmed start and end time are the same, the recording will be set for

24 hours automatically.

• If a start time is earlier and an end time is later than the current time, the

recording will start right after you press T-SET.

• If a disc becomes full during timer recording, the unit turns itself off. In such

case, press T-SET. Insert a new disc. And then press T-SET again to resume the
timer recording.

• If a tape reaches the end during timer recording, the unit automatically ejects

the tape. In such case, insert a new tape to resume the timer recording.

Timer Recording is in Standby

• Press T-SET.

• You cannot use any functions for either component (even after a timer record-

ing on one component has already began).

• You cannot change output mode or use SETUP while the other component is

in timer standby.

• You can turn on the side of the unit that is not in timer standby by pressing

POWER, however you cannot use SETUP or change output mode. You only
can play or make a basic recording while the other component is in timer
standby.

• If a basic recording or an OTR is in progress on one component (e.g.VCR) and the timer recording set

for the other component (e.g. DVD) is about to begin, the unit automatically switches to the programmed
channel 2 minutes before the programmed starting time, and the recording in progress (for VCR) will be
cancelled UNLESS their recording channels are the same. If their recording channels are the same, the
timer recording (for DVD) will start without cancelling the recording currently in progress (on the VCR).
In this case, a recording of the same channel will be made on both DVD and VCR.

• The timer recording cannot be performed in DVD and VCR at the same time. If

you make two programmings withe the same channel and time in both compo-
nents, the program with a lower program number will be recorded.
