pMPEG

OUT OPTICAL and COAXIAL connectors. You cannot
select this item when you set “DIGITAL OUT” to “OFF.”
• PCM: when the player is connected to an audio

component lacking a built-in MPEG decoder. If you
play MPEG AUDIO sound tracks, the player outputs
stereo signals taken from MPEG AUDIO signals via the
DIGITAL OUT OPTICAL and COAXIAL connectors.

• MPEG: when the player is connected to an audio

component having a built-in MPEG decoder.

Note

If the player is connected to an audio component lacking a
built-in MPEG decoder, do not set “MPEG” in “AUDIO
SETUP” to “MPEG.” Otherwise, when you play the MPEG
AUDIO sound track, a loud noise will come out from the
speakers, affecting your ears or causing the speakers to be
damaged.

Note

The player outputs the MPEG analog audio sound only from the
front speakers when you set “DIGITAL OUT” in “AUDIO
SETUP” to “ON” and then set “MPEG” to “MPEG.”

pDTS
Selects output DTS signals via the DIGITAL OUT
OPTICAL and COAXIAL connectors. You cannot select
this item when you set “DIGITAL OUT” to “OFF.”
• OFF: when the player is connected to an audio

component lacking a built-in DTS decoder.

• ON: when the player is connected to an audio

component having a built-in DTS decoder.

Note

Select the setting correctly. Otherwise, no sound or strange
sound will come out from the speakers, affecting your ears or
causing the speakers to be damaged.

• Do not play the DTS sound tracks without

connecting the player to an audio component
having a built-in DTS decoder. You cannot hear
the DTS sound unless you connect the player to
an audio component having a built-in DTS
decoder.

• When you play the DTS sound track on a CD, a

loud noise will come out from the LINE OUT
(AUDIO 1, 2) connectors, affecting your ears or
causing the speakers to be damaged.

• When you play the DTS sound track on a DVD,

no sounds will come out from the LINE OUT
(AUDIO 1, 2) connectors.
