• A “D” appears in front of “ZOOM” when you

push the Power Zoom control to the T
(telephoto) side during the digital zoom.

To return to optical zoom

Press the SET button to set the DGTL ZOOM
menu item to “OFF” in step 2 above.

Setting the Digital Zoom

You can select among three different zoom
ranges: 1–16

ן (optical zoom), 16–64ן (digital

zoom) or 64–400

ן (digital zoom). The digital

zoom allows you to record powerful close-up
pictures with the same operation as normal
zooming.

Notes:
• The digital zoom is in addition to the optical

zoom giving a combined maximum zoom range
of 1–400

ן.

As the image is enlarged digitally, the picture

quality decreases when higher digital zoom
settings are used.

The digital zoom cannot be used with the

Digital Quick Zoom or the STRETCH or SLIM
EFF. picture effects.

In Recording Standby mode, press the
MENU button until

(MENU 1)

appears.

Press the

ĭ or İ button (Q) to select

“DGTL ZOOM”, then press the SET
button (

B) (W) to select “64؂” or

“400

؂”.

Press the DISPLAY button to turn off the
menu screen.
